Steam Scream V – Halloween Brings Obscurity Hunt and Zombies Horde!
Experience improved combat flow and enhanced Obscurity abilities with the return of Hunt and Horde modes!

It’s been just over a month since we released the game into Early Access and we appreciate everyone who decided to come along for the ride towards the 1.0 release! We welcome everyone new and old to come check out our Steam Scream V Halloween Update!
Major Changes to Obscurity Character Combat Flow
The massive change this update is one that we felt needed to be brought forward – improved combat flow and accessibility of all the abilities the Obscurity can use.
We believe we have enhanced the deadliness of the Obscurity character and brought back some of the magic that the players of the original Obscurity mod may have been missing, whilst also bringing in some new and creative ways to defeat the human enemies.
The following list are the important changes we made to the Obscurity character gameplay:
- Obscurity rifle was removed allowing the firemodes to be accessible at all times when aiming
- Obscurity fists are now set as the secondary weapon to improve combat flow
- The majority of the stances and firemodes have been updated to allow for more fun and emergent interactions
- Taunts are now context sensitive and require a single button press, making them more useful in a pinch
- Enhanced feedback of whether the cloak is active or not in first person
- Improved weapon swing and impact sounds
Obscurity Hunt and Zombies Horde Modes Added
We have also improved and re-added two fan favourite modes from the playtests back into the game, Obscurity Hunt and Zombies Horde! Grab your friends and see if you can survive the horrors that await.
